Supply acquisition + future prospects

This evening, I made a run to a nearby shopping complex, where I obtained a few things to sustain me through the coming days and weeks.

First stop: Wal Mart. I acquired some generic razor blades so I can properly shave. The ones I had were wearing raw. Dental floss. Gonna need that. Based on the signals my teeth were sending this week, there might be some damage to repair. Since my coverage lasts until the end of the month, I can keep the dental appointment I made last week. But scheduling followups? Well... Maybe I'll have to find some sort of insurance plan which I can pay for out of my own pocket.

I also stocked some canned goods, carbos, bread, soup, deli turkey balogna meat (the safety, given recent meat poisioning paranoia in Colorado (for those who pay attention), might be questionable, but I've never personally had a problem with it, and the price was very low), and mostly non-perishable items.

After buying my Wal Mart items (paid cash, I'm sick of feeding the marketing machine my habits), I journied across the parking lot to Wild Oats, where I acquired produce, potatoes, a fresh supply of a favored "all natural" sleep control drug, and a single dose of good citrus juice to drink.

After the clerk rang up my total, I explained my employment situation, and asked her if this place might be hiring for any positions. She replied that they probably would be, since many people will be leaving for school soon. So now would be a good time to apply. A temporary position for the holiday season would be something they would definitely be looking for. It's exactly what I want. Part time, maybe.

So... I got her to give me an application, and asked her a little about her job. She said she enjoys the work, and they treat her well. This is a good sign. Happy employees. Not burned out, overstressed drones. (The burned out employee syndrome appeared to be the case at Wal Mart. Wal Mart is not a place I would want to work anyway. I've heard way to many bad things about how they treat their workforce. One such report came from my own brother.)

So... I think I'll fill out the Wild Oats application and bring it in at some point during the next few days. I'll need to consider exactly what kind of work I want. One full time job? A part time job? Two part time jobs at different businesses? (Might be stressful, but more interesting that way.)

Given what this person told me, I don't think I'll have any trouble finding something. It won't be the pay scale I've become accustomed to, but for peace of mind, I'll take that trade.

Friends come, and friends may go
My friend, you're real I know
True self you have shown
You're alright with me

Now, I've got a little ritual to perform in a few minutes. How it will go is to be determined by the flow of nature. I'll be practicing something resembling a Pagan ceremony, although I mostly make up these traditions as I go. (As is frequently done by modern pagan practitioners.)

So maybe it's not even really pagan. It's just... well... a guy burning a candle in his apartment. lol.

Time to prepare....
