I have just successfully wired my sound card in my bedroom to my stereo in the living room. Wow, what a feat! I feel like a genius today. (Well.... Apparently this simple task of plugging together a few 8mm plugs, RCA jacks, and old Radio Shark headphone extension cables was just too much for my peon brain last Saturday. But not today! :)
Now I can stream Britney through all the speakers in every "room" in my apartment simultaniously. Yeehaw!
Now the only thing left is to find some underground software house which publishes Interactive GameCube Porn, and this place will be set, just in time for me to move out around the end of the year!
Alas, the demands of real life require that I get some kind of job within 30 days, or I'm pretty much fscked.
I"m thinking I'll aim for some sort of temporary part time position in the service industry to tie me over until year's end. Maybe I should talk to Q'doba again. That job would give me the advantage of... well... the opportunity to see some of my old coworkers on a semi-daily basis. lol.
We'll see.
About my former place of work: Well.... Despite the wierd stuff I've been seeing -- an email identity that was apparently forged, me getting booted out on a sorry twisted technically goofy interpretation of company policy, and not a single apology from the management at the top for dumping away some of their best and brightest a few months ago -- I think there are still good people in that company.
Could it be that the corporate world is almost inherently laced with deceit by the very nature things are setup? Senior officers are required by law to put profit above all other values. If they don't, shareholders will sue. So if you believe that your company might be hurting someone, your hands are tied, unless you can prove that not hurting them will make more money for the shareholders. Not an easy thing to do.
(And yeah, I've pretty much forgiven Amazon.com these days, since I haven't seem them do anything nasty for a long time. Although I'm not buying anything right now. I got no money to spare until I get a job!)
Truth, Beauty, but above all.... Love.
I"ve been watching the apache logs. I know people inside my former company are monitoring what I write. Keep monitoring as long as you like.
I intend to go on with my life.
Onward.
