Today, Bitscape signed a piece of paper to renew and extend his residence in the Castle Lair for another 6 months. Yea!

Sometimes, one could get the impression that IFC was created as a vehicle for people who work in Hollywood to vent all their pent up angst. This movie has it in spades.

Since my brain and body are currently denying me the pleasure of sleep, I embark on the third rambling of the evening which may not see the light of rage for a while.

What has it been? An hour since my last rambling? Anyway, a little time on the couch, some Music(tm), and a bit of time passed, and my head feeling significantly clearer than it was not long ago. There's a bit of stuff on my mind, expanding on earlier thoughts. Normally, I'd post this in the collective, but since Rage has mysteriously vanished from the known universe, the collective is not available. Hence, this rambling.

Ok, I think my typing accuracy at the moment proves it. (You don't see the typos because I backspace erase them.) I am moderately drunk at the moment. Driving Tobias home probably wasn't the hottest idea ever, but... short distance. Not that drunk. Just a bit. Mildly. That second batch was a real kicker though.

The only relief comes when the end credits roll. The soft sound of waves hitting the beach; seagulls in the distance. No music. No noise. A moment of peace after the storm.

This is possibly the most grueling movie ever conceived. Why did I watch it again? Oh, right. It happened to be sitting on my shelf.

Though it may disappoint certain content vultures who seemed quite excited when Bitscape talked about canceling his cable, due to recent events, I have decided to hold off on that, at least for a little while. (As Collective vultures already know, ever since I started considered canceling, my actual usage and enjoyment has oddly increased. Oh, and the farscape season finale airs this Friday. Gotta watch that!)

Just heard the sad news on BPI radio. Singer/songwriter Layne Staley was found dead in his home last Friday. Even if you never heard his work, you can appreciate his contribution in 90's music. Truly a rock icon. He will be missed.

Yes, I haven't been mosting ramblings very frequently lately. I credit (or blame) this partially to the theory that I seem to have relatively little of substance to say, and partially to the fact that I simply haven't felt like writing as much. It comes and goes. Such is the way of things.

Every time I see one of those icky, revolting creatures, I want to fill its black exoskeleton so full of lead that the vile, acidic blood splatters into a billion drops, incinerating its entire filthy, slimey lair. Nuke them to hell, I say. Nuke them all!

So I finally got around to watching this classic piece of scifi horror.

Do I have enough potential content to fill a rambling tonight? Yes, I do. Rage appears to be quite dead at the moment, so I don't know how long until this reaches the masses.

Having had a few months since my theatrical viewings to digest, it's now time to return and confront the DVD release head on. Here we go again!

Where did this music entering my ears come from?

Set in a bleak, racist trailer park trash town of the southern United States, this movie tells the story of a woman whose husband was electrocuted on death row (played by Ms. Halle "gushing at the Oscars" Berry), and the prison guard who threw the switch (Billy Bob Thornton). And yes, it is a romance. Oh my!

This film is whacked. I saw it years ago when it came out in theaters, and loved it then too. MTV Shakespeare, Baz Luhrmann style.

It feels like the time has come to write some so-called "content". I think I'll write something. But first, a little splattering of the words being fed into my ears, in the hopes it will help me across the bridge of being inspired to write words of my own. Please bear with.

In what began as a rather low key mass irc gathering, Jaeger helped me fix a rather nasty bug in the collective login code which prevented it from recognizing handles with non-word characters (as defined by perl's regex engine). (I define "helped" as informing me of the fact that the bug existed, so I could go about diagnosing it and creating a fix.) Also added a small requested feature to set the username cookie when a user logs in. The source tarball has been updated.

I think I will refer to this one as the Inspirational Weed Movie. By the time it's done, you can't help but have a big smile on your face. Laugh it up.
