Mass ircanity

Having concluded the semi-unannounced mass irc, which was attended by virtually every illustrious member of the undefined "club" with the exception of one (or two, if we count our dear friend TransBot), I now ponder the merits of sleep. New DSL lines, digital cameras, and life at the monestary. The wonders never cease.
Last night, I managed to hose a significant portion of Argo's sanity (not to mention my own), when I did a massive apt-get upgrade, followed by a kernel upgrade, and reboot. This included, among other things, a major update to XFree86 4.1, which somehow managed to trash my nice keyboard config. Imagine, to my horror, the sight of an xdm login screen which only takes qwerty imput! Imagine the further horror of trying to alt-F1 out to console, only have the same evil keyboard layout confront me at the textmode login screen. But the greatest travesty has not yet even been reached! Think of the pain, after finally having twisted and churned my fingers to get a bash prompt, when "loadkeys dvorak" displays the following:
findkeymap: no such file or directorycannot open file dvorak
Then Bitscape gets really really pissed. I still have yet to figure out what went wrong with that. Google lends nothing of use. Perhaps I'll have to actually subscribe to one of these mailing lists myself and attempt to inquire about it.
This obstruction prevented me from inputting in the movielog entry I meant to type, because by the time I had kludged Argo into a usable state, my brain was too fried to put together any thoughts. I may or may not give it another go tonight before shutting down.
Today was an extra long day at work. I stuck around late, ate free food, had something resembling a hootin tootin good time, and did something semi-productive for a portion of the evening (productivity steadily declined as the hours progressed).
Now, here I sit. Having just flooded my ears with a nauseatingly sappy tune or two from none other than the Antichrist, I wonder if I truly am a masochist at heart.
If all goes well, I'll be signing lease papers tomorrow (or possibly the next day). I should be making a merry trip to Best Buy too. Meesa think so.
My brain is about to fall out. I think I'll soak it in some unconscious in a bit.
[P.S. Looks like postgres managed to break too. Grrrrrrrrr]
