Tonight, Zan Lynx and I journied to Boulder and ate at Subway on the way to BLUG at its new location on the CU campus. At BLUG, the main speaker was the developer of Pippy, the Palm version of Python. He spoke about various aspects and obstacles of porting the language to such a wildly different type of platform, some of which I understood, and some of which I was totally ignorant. Truly an amazing feat to port a modern scripting language to a machine with such a tiny memory heap capacity and totally different io system.

After BLUG, we returned to the Louisville Compound and watched Zan Lynx's tape of the latest episode of Enterprise (Strange New World), which had been recorded by a coworker. I think I enjoyed this Enterprise episode more than any so far. The show definitely has promise, which really began to show through in this one. (Although that theme music gets more obnoxious with each listening. Extreme measures, such as use of the Mute button, might be called for on future occassions.) For much of the episode, we had lots of fun amusing ourselves by trying to guess who the red shirt would be. (No, I won't spoil it.) Overall, some of the best humor, character development, and drama to be witnessed so far in the series. I approve.

And now, my options are (1) go to sleep immediately, or (2) amuse myself with other various devices until I do. I'm slightly tempted to watch a Farscape episode on Argo before bed. Perhaps I shall. Perhaps I shall.
