This is going to be much briefer than my 2 hour babble about Mulholland Drive, because I'm quite tired right now.

Yesterday: Spent the morning getting various things in order around here. Spent the afternoon over at the Louisville Compound sorting the rest of my junk, forcing myself to classify everything as "trash" or "not trash". Threw away a great deal of old stuff.

I also did something I don't like to do very often: Transferred money from my savings into checking. Drainage of funds has been happening, and it didn't help that a car insurance payment coincided with the move. Doh. One of these days, these crazy one time moving expenses will cease. They'd better.

Today, I spent the morning organizing stuff, and still somehow have a giant mess. Went over to the Louisville Compound and shot some final footage, as well as helping my parents with some stuff.

Went on another shopping spree. This time, the mission was bookcases, chairs, tables, stuff to put things on. I was at least partially successful. Going to 2 Wal Marts and a Target, I acquired two small bookcases (one of which will be used for storage of other media), a small desk for Dagobah, plates, soap, and 2 folding chairs.

After transporting my stuff into the Castle Lair, I was intent to see Mulholland Drive again, and dashed off to the nearby theater, slightly late. I walked into the auditorium during the opening "gap sequence". If there's one thing I hate more than anything, it's being late for a movie. But it was a great film. Just as riveting the second time.

I returned, cooked a pizza, and wrote a movielog entry. I then set about the task of assembling my bookshelf. After I got it done, I was reminded why I am not a carpenter by trade. Proud of the effort I had expended in banging it all together, I stood it up, only to discover that somewhere along the way, I had gotten something backwards and/or upside down. Unfinished particle board sticking out at the top, on both sides. Doh! I unsuccessfully tried to convince myself that it had a certain look of symmetrical quirky charm. Maybe I'll buy some matching finish paper and glue it on, since that's really all the rest of it is anyway. Or maybe I'll just leave it.

I put some books on it. As expected, it didn't hold all the books I have, despite the fact that I got rid of a lot of old useless books back at the Louisville Compound. Oh well. I'll figure something out.
