Silly me. I never saw this one during its run in
theaters. It's one of those movies I always really
meant to see, but never actually got around to it.
Until now.
Like Pixar's other greats, it is a very fun film
to just watch. An array of fun, playful characters cast
in bright, vibrant colors with the charm to make anyone
feel the wonder of being a child watching cartoons again.
Bugs.
The plot structure itself is hardly original. The
story of the outcast who becomes a hero to overthrow
the oppressors is something we've all seen a million
times in different variations, but seeing it
done here in full color CGI with ants, grasshoppers,
and the rag-tag insects from the circus was just enough
to put a smile on my face.
