Taking Flight

Well, I'm aboard. Delta flight 432. Denver to Atlanta. The plane is sitting on the runway. The baggage truck just pulled away. Waiting to be taxied.
I'm right near the back. Seat 43F. An aisle seat. Thank goodness the seat next to me is unoccupied. Peace, privacy, and a little room to spread out.
Flight attendant making announcements. lol at the part about people sitting next to emergency exits. "If you are unable or unwilling to perform these functions, pleas tell a flight attendant and we will reseat you." Right out of Fight Club.
Plane is moving now. Woohoo!
Video screet about oxygen masks. rotfl. If I fall asleep, wake up, and see Tyler Durden in the seat next to me, I'll know for sure I've completely lost it.
Moving faster now.
[Bitscape puts notebook down to take in the experience.]
...
Above ground now. Way above ground.
...
I guess that was a fairly smoothe takeoff, as far as takeoffs go. Still, I haven't felt even those kind of G's in a while.
I find writing with this pen very quaint and frustrating. Too slow and tedious. Hope I can read any of this later.
Currently 9:58 in Atlanta according to the pilot's announcement. That means it's been a half hour since I boarded. If the entire ordeal goes as fast as this did, I'll be back home in a flash.
Had a minor hassle at the security gate. A coworker who had flown yesterday hadn't brought his laptop, and asked me to deliver it. (Don't ask why he didn't bring it himself; I don't know either.) Anyway, I was asked to turn it on, I plugged it in, and the screen came up with a bunch of fuzz. Then the Win98 logo appeared, but it was like the v-hold was WAY out of whack. They finally rain their little tracer over it, and let me proceed, after I confessed that it didn't belong to me, and I didn't have a clue. Wierd.
Wow, we're above the cloud line now. But I can still see patches of quilt-patterned land through the white.
I guess I'll terminate now, maybe do a little reading, an go over my monologue. It's also easy to get hypnotized looking out the window at the ground. Looks like the snack is going to be coming down the aisle here in a second. One thing is now certain: I will get through this.
P.S. I couldn't help but note with some dry bit of irony that another web content vulture/provider is probably at this very moment embarking on another journey, in the exact opposite direction via a different travel method. Coincidence? I think not. ;)
Finish sometime after 0800MDT. 0815 maybe.
