Probably more content in my head than I can type (the sequel)

Alright, I am tired. And there is so much stuff I want to get to. Just don't have enough f-in time! Starting right in.
Today at work was busy. For the 98% of the time that I wasn't in discussions about software patents, there was many a bug to work on. In a way, I think there's a part of me that likes the semi-frantic pace that is necessitated by times such as this. It's like... You just dive in, and do the work. No time for bullshit. No backtracking. Very little sitting and debating about whether something should be done this way or that, because it just can't be afforded. Decisions must be quick, and surgical strikes precise. And at the end of the day, you can look back with satisfaction, and say, "Before I came in today, this and this and this didn't work right. Now, they do." It's a good feeling.
In fact, I was on such a roll that I wasn't even that worried about staying late. It was just... going, going, going, things that need to be done. Getting them done. When I was reminded by my coworker-cum-manager at 17:45 that it was time to go home, I was considering actually sticking around a bit longer, enough to finish up the one I was working on to finish out the roll I was on. But when it turned out to be more involved than expected, I decided it probably would be best to leave it be until tomorrow. Don't want to max out and then totally plop, even if I was enjoying it. I was tired.
So I took off, leaving behind a nearly empty office. And drove. Scenic route. The music BPI had on was great. Just the perfect blend of stuff like Perfect Circle, Rage, Pink Floyd, Disturbed. It just really hit the spot.
I found myself at Best Buy. I have decided that it is finally time to take a step into the 21st century and obtain a cell phone. I looked at their cell phone selection, and wasn't terribly impressed. Also wandered through the cds, and saw several potentially appealing choices (methinks that the record companies really ought to be paying radio stations for the free advertising, and not the other way around).
Looked at DVDs. It would seem that Best Buy has expanded their music DVD section since my previous visits. Yipee! When it comes to purchasing, DVD's with music are really much more appealing candidates to buy. I've found that with movies, renting generally works better. All but the very best ones I only want to watch a few times and return anyway. But music... Music video... Live recordings... That's an entirely different story. Music doesn't get old nearly as quickly.
I found several of them that looked really cool, but decided to limit myself to one choice. Walked out with Ozzy's "Live and Loud". That man knows how to make Power Music [tm] in the classic sense of the word. Tis true.
Made my way over to Circut City, and examined their cell phone selection. Got with a sales person, who walked me through various models. For me, the purpose of having a cell phone is NOT to get a pager so more people can bother me, surf the web on a micro-sized display, or razzle dazzle with flashing lights. It is there so that I can conduct occassional voice communications while outside the confines of the house or workplace.
I purchased accordingly, paying 1 cent for the phone (it ain't fancy, but it'll do the job), and getting a 1-year contract at the lowest available rate. (I don't plan to be chit chatting for hours on end with this thing.) Incidentally, they didn't have the phones in stock at the time, so I'll be returning tomorrow night or Saturday to pick it up.
So, after I got all that done, stopped by the drivethru, and made it home, it was approaching 2100. Settle down, eat, check email. It's time to get ready for bed. Or it should have been. But I'm a crazy web author, so what did I do? Gee, you figure it out.
Well now, I WILL go straight to bed, with no more content vulturing tonight. I signed up for a loong work day tomorrow, in exchange for the free time I got yesterday. I intend to be awake and alert for the duration, at least as much as possible. To sleep.
