And now... let us ponder.

And you can dance
For inspiration
Come on
I'm waiting

Get into the groove
Boy you've got to prove
Your love to me

Get up on your feet
Yeah step to the beat
Boy what will it be

Music can be such a revelation
Dancing around you feel this sweet sensation
We might be lovers if the rhythm's right
I hope this feelin never ends tonight
Only when i'm dancin can i feel this free
At night i lock the doors where no one else can see
I'm tired of dancin here all by myself
Tonight I wanna dance with someone else

Get into the groove
Boy you've got to prove your love to me
Yeah
Get up on your feet
Yeah step to the beat
Boy what will it be

Want to get to know you
In a special way
This doesn't happen to me every day
Don't try to hide it
Love wears no disguise
I see the fire burnin in your eyes

Only when i'm dancin can i feel this free
At night i lock the doors where no one else can see
I'm tired of dancin here all by myself
Tonight i wanna dance with someone else

Get into the groove
Boy you've got to prove you love to me
Yeah
Get up on your feet
Yeah step to the beat
Boy what will it be

Live out your fantasy here with me
Just let the music set you free
Touch my body and move in time
Now i know you're mine

Live out your fantasy here with me
Just let the music set you free
Touch my body and move in time
Now i know you're mine

You've got to get into the groove
Boy you've got to prove your love to me
Yeah
Get up on your feet
Yeah step to the beat
Boy what will it be
You've got to
Get into the groove
Boy you got to prove
Your love to me
Get up on your feet
Yeah step to the beat
Boy what will it be

You've got to
Get int the groove
Boy you've got to prove
Your love to me

[fade out]

Yeah, lotsa social implications here. lol.

Ok, in truth, no one requested that I write a fscking THESIS on this song, or actually, post even any web content, for that matter (so I told a little white lie earlier). I was actually cursed with the task of PONDERING the social implications. But, you know me. Whenever I start pondering something, it usually ends up here in some form or another. :)

Well, here it is. Ya know, I hear that song, and I think, "Gee, what a lovely little tune. How nice. I think I'll listen to it again." And so I do.

Now, I'm sure I could drone on in some wishy washy postmodern critique about the cultural decline and rise of the proletariat, stringing lots of grandiose words and phrases together in a way that sounds like it makes sense, but I think I'll refrain, since I've probably already done enough damage already.

Yadda yadda yadda. There ya go. Sorry if this rambling sucked. G'night.
