Alright, after tonight's episode, I just have to ask. Who stole all the good Xena writers and moved them over to Buffy? Ok, I know. It's a rhetorical question, because I saw the opening credit. "Written and directed by Joss Whedon." Still, tonight's kickass episode of Buffy (and Angel wasn't half bad either) was a very welcome experience after the recent crop of shit from the once mighty chakram land. The drivel they tried to pass off as a Xena episode last Saturday night really had me wondering why I consider myself a fan.

But Buffy & crew! SMG and Eliza Dushku's impressions of each other... Very impressive. Lol. And Willow and Tara... My God, I think they cranked up the subtext about three notches tonight. In a Good way, of course. That "not not driving with a stick anymore" line had be coughing on my Chinese noodles. lol.

And Angel, well, the gladiator plot has been used about a zillion times before (including Seven on Voyager a couple weeks ago), but the execution was right on. Cordy's line at the end echoed exactly what I had been thinking.

Angel (or was it Wesley?): "We freed the captives."

Cordelia: "Didn't we just free a bunch of demons?"

That's the humor. Yes indeed.

And oh my. With some of the movie ads for upcoming releases, I'm really starting to wish I didn't have this nagging thing called a boycott going on. Goddammit MPAA, just apologise, make up, and drop the lawsuits! I want to patronize you. I really do. You make good stuff (well, some of the time anyway), but picking on nice, peace-loving Linux hackers just ain't cool. What a quandry!

Alright. I'm going to get a bit of exercise before bed. Peace.
