After spending the last few days wrestling with postgres, and finally getting all my data on Dagobah and Rage relatively synced, I've realized that the current interface for version 2.0 just isn't there yet.

Truly, I was planning on spending most of Friday on it, then when migrating to postgres didn't go quite as smoothly as planned, I was going to do it Saturady. More bugs and oddities encountered. (Whoever heard of not having "update base_class* ..." not operate on occurances of fields in all the derived classes? This half-cooked object oriented stuff just ain't all it's cracked up to be. Well, I'm working around it, but what a bad kludge to have to go through and do each and every descendent individuality. Grrrr.)

So anyway, I did what I wasn't going to do, and grafted old code onto new. Bitscape's Lounge is now running on the totally revised postgres schema, but it obviously doesn't look all that different from the end-user perspective. Maybe it's inevitable.

Well, given that I've got a solid core to work off of, a well-designed schema (if I do say so myself), and a nice elegant pile yet unreleased modules to use, I plan to post a new interface to work alongside this one before too long. That way, people will be able to view Bitscape's Lounge through either method. The boring old stable spaghetti, and the new crap which will be designed to exploit all the new features I've been making.

That's all now. I'm gonna go watch the Simpsons.
