Ever since Madonna came into my life, she has been awakening parts of me I never knew I had, making me aware of muscles (figuratively) I have never used, and inspiring thoughts that I didn't think were possible. When I first became aware of my newfound power, I was awed at the possibilities. But I had no idea what to do with my power, where to use it, and who to use it on.
Then the obvious occured to me. What better way could there be to use this newfound power than to thank the one who gave it to me? That is why I created this web page. Even given the remote possibility that Madonna will completely ignore this endeavor, it is sure to enlarge her fan base by a significant degree, and if she wants no more, then it will be enough for me too.
I will move on in my life, exersising on a daily basis the power I know she has given to me. And, figuratively speaking, I will worship the alter I have built in my mind to her if for no other reason than for the selfish need to have a reservoir where I can channel all of this gratitude. And, unless she directs me to stop, I will continue to write and publish works about her, her music, her art, and her impact on society.
If, on the other hand, she decides of her own free will that she would like me to express my gratitude in a more intimate, personal, and private way, I will follow her lead. This page is a direct attempt to convince her to pursue the latter option. It is what I want, and I believe it is what she wants. If I have misread her thoughts, I would like to hear from her how I managed to commit such an egregious error, and how she managed to influence me to do so.
I think that by now, I have gotten my point across. Either that, or it's never going to get across. So I would like to end this piece with a phrase quoted by Madonna in one of her songs, and originally authored by Walt Whitman.
"Surely whoever speaks to me in the right voice, him or her I shall follow"
