Home for spring break

While we're on the topic of mp3s (see last ramble), today marks a historic landmark for me. Upon arriving at the Louisville Compound, I was happy to discover that the CD I ordered last week over the web arrived. What's so historic about that? Well, this was the first cd I purchased based solely upon hearing mp3 (and some RealAudio) music from the artist. For anyone interested in who that may be, check out the Emily Richards website and take a listen.

And... on the topic of CDs, I do plan to put something in that "CD Corner" section of my web page very soon. I'm leaning toward making it MySQL-based too, since I really like the way the MySQL-ized movielog and random ramblings are going. MySQL rocks.

What exactly will go in CD Corner? It's something I've wanted to do this for the longest time, but never gotten around to creating. Occasionaly, when I happen to fall into that musically inspired state of consciousness, I feel the need to articulate, as best I can, what the music means to me. What is it about the lyrics, the melody, instrumentation, or whatever, that makes good music so powerful? I guess it'll be sort of an analysis and interpretation type of thing. Think The Lady Wore Black with a less intellectual, more blatently subjective twist.

Well, I was gonna talk about how great it is to be home for spring break, but I guess everybody knows that anyway, so this concludes another one.
