Bitscape's Lair

Barely keeping my eyes open...

For some idiotic reason, I'm still awake, but barely. Right now, I'm trying to decide whether it would be worthwhile to stay up and go to class this morning, or get a few hours of sleep. I dunno. It's a toss up.

For over an hour now, I've been reading Jaeger's journel, which he published for public consumption just hours ago (that link will probably be broken in a few days, but oh well. Maybe if I think of it later, I'll change it.). On his home page, he trumpets the reason as being "Not to be outdone by Bitscape", referring to the section of my web page into which I am not typing. I'm flattered

It is interesting, perhaps even addictive, to read about life from someone else's perspective, particularly when certain events intersect with your own. Jaeger pointed my to his first entry made with Yukon before leaving the premises, and I decided to work my way back from there. Got all the way to the beginning of '96, and decided that would be a good place to stop for the time being. Man, some of that stuff jogged my memory, and threw a whole other spin on some of it. Also made me realize previously unknown dimensions in the life of someone I've known for years. This whole online journaling thing is just wacked. And I've been up way too long.

Neelix just went to breakfast. I didn't even realize they served it this early. Apparently, they do. I declined to go with him, as I'm not really hungry. Been munching down sunflower seeds all night to go along with my highly caffeinated liquid diet. Probably explains why my throat feels so parched. Combine the dehydrading effects of caffeine with the salt in the seeds, and guess what happens? Yet I continue to munch them without even thinking about it.

As the time of decision approaches, I'm struck by a quote from one of Jaeger's entries:
It is only through testing our limits that we accomplish anything worthwhile.
Seems worth pondering. Maybe I should add it to my custom fortune database for this web page.

As I ponder my limits, I realize that it's time for this entry to end. I'll return with further updates at a later time.
