Bitscape's Lair

Hello again

Submitted: Wednesday, March 24, 1999 03:06

I now have a new Netscape and lots of typing to do before it leaks enough to need restarting again.

In case anyone's wondering... No, I'm not planning on making a web page titled "Alanis Memoirs." Everybody relieved now? Good. That said, I can now say that I once again consider myself a totally full-fledged Alanis fan again. [Bitscape regresses into a trance-like state as track 12, "Would not Come" blasts through his headphones.]

My only complaint about the concert. I really, really, really... really[n] wanted to hear "Joining You," but it never came on. That's, like, my favorite song from the new album. I understand Alanis can't play everything, but I really, really... Ok, I think I got the point across. It was still an awesome show. I'll just listen to the cd.

Well, theoretically, I'm festing tonight, but so far, I've been way too hyper to get anything productive done. When I first got back from the concert, it took me 15 minutes to calm down enough to login to Dagobah. Then another 10 to calm down enough to open Netscape. Of course, the first thing I had to do once Netscape was going was go to the official Alanis homepage. There isn't a lot there, but I had to do it anyway.

Oh, and retracing the events of the last couple days. I obviously found out about the Alanis show (radio ad), got excited about it immediately upon hearing the promotion, and found out that going was feasible, because miracle of miracles, it wasn't sold out, and, miracle of miracles, my parents consented to let me use the car. Then there was just the issue of funding it. That part was easy. Just plunder the my spending fund which is supposed to last the next 2 months and see the show. So I did.

Very little else has occupied my sphere of consciousness over the past 24 hours. I did get around to watching The Crucible on video today, which did a very good job of curbing my antsyness as I waited the afternoon away, dreaming about the evening to come. A very good movie actually. I regret not being able to make a real log entry for it, but I think I'll stick to the policy I stated a couple days ago, at least for now. Salem, Massechusates. Seventeenth century. Witch trials. Winona Ryder. Danial-Day Lewis. Good movie. That's all.

P.S. Alanis Morissette rocks. Garbage rocks. Any questions?
